THE IT LIST

weekend

Its the weekly IT List again! Here is what you should be wearin’, seein’ and eatin’…..

WEAR IT: Something furry! With Gucci showing their fur – think dog, not bear – shoes at Milan Fashion Week this week, anything from furry coats to bags is the way to go. Fur (the faux kind) is no longer limited to the coat or gilet, bags and accessories have become the trendsetters way to #wearit. You can even buy a fur iPhone case from Topshop!

SEE IT: The annual Jameson Film Festival programme was launched on Thursday night. Check out the schedule here, and catch some great movies in Dublin from March 19-29. You have been given plenty of notice, so get your season ticket now.

EAT IT: NOTHING! Its Lent after all. Look, we all say we are going off chocolate, alcohol, etc. but once you decide you are giving something up, it’s ALL YOU CAN THINK ABOUT! So, why not take up eating something new and healthy, rather than giving up chocolate completely. With that in mind, I recommend taking in more water and greens – kale being the trendy veg right now. And if you are feeling lazy, head over to Blazing Salads on Drury Street to get your health fix on.

HEAR IT: Well, I’m not sure you can now. The hottest ticket in Dublin town – Ed Sheeran at Croke Park on July 24 and 25 – is already sold out. For two nights. Go Ed! You may know someone in the biz, as they say, or you may be lucky and your mate, who bought a ticket, will be struck down with a 24 hour bug – nothing too serious – the night of the gig. Fingers cross!

SAY IT: Well done! That’s my mantra this week. I feel that we do not compliment our loved ones enough on their achievements, both big and small. We are all too busy with our own mad lives to see what great things our family, friends, and colleagues are doing. So, look around and say ‘well done’, people will love it!

The IT List

Its Friday!

And that means one thing here at WEAR IT/dublin, the weekly IT list. And this is our first (tiny applause!). The weekly IT list will give you all the information you need on what to eat, see, wear, and listen to this weekend. Enjoy. And please send us any of you IT items in the comments section below.

WEAR IT: A rain coat. We have started our weekend rather wet here in Dublin. Try a good old fashion trench, like this one.

SEE IT: Fifty Shades of Grey, I guess? Everyone is talking about it, its out today, so why not go and get your perv on with some Jamie Dornan, or Dakota Johnson, whichever takes your fancy. I will be heading to the National Concert Hall tomorrow night to see the remarkable Declan O’Rourke. If you don’t know him, you should, watch this.

EAT IT: Chocolate. Are you beginning to see a Valentines theme running through our IT List? We don’t need a reason to eat chocolate, but if someone gives you a box this weekend, eat them. Any rich, overpriced foods can go on into this category. While I am not a Valentines person, anything that encourages us to go out to a fancy restaurant or scoff a box of Dairy Milk – kicking it old school – is fine by me. I will move on to trendy stuff like kale next week. WARNING: don’t go overboard like this chick.

HEAR IT: Tis the season to be romantic, and after cleaning up at the Grammy’s, I am having a bit of a Sam Smith love in this week. I think it is as much about wanting to go for drinks with him, as it is his music. And my weekly playlist always includes the unique and amazing Róisín Murphy who has been announced to play at this years Electric Picnic music and arts festival. Whether listening to old school Moloko tracks, or her own stuff, I am a happy camper. And try to watch the videos. Her style in this video….those silver boots, the cape, that hat….there are no words. #coolestladyintheworld

SAY IT: ‘I love you’. Oh go on then, lets just love this list right up. Tell that special someone, even if its your Mom, that you love them this weekend. Everyone likes to hear that somebody loves them. It is most appropriate this weekend, but there is never a wrong time to say it. I Googled ‘love’ and this image came up….why not?! #courtneylove
